Following the January announcement, we would like to confirm that as we are essential & medical, we remain fully open to continue to provide our full range of eye care services.
We have a stringent hygiene/PPE regime in place as well as limiting the number of patients in the practice.
Please attend any appointments as planned.

Growing up in Earls Barton our parents joked about us opening an opticians in the village one day and 25 years later we finally did - just in Higham Ferrers!

We grew up going to an independent optician where we were made to feel like a friend as much as a patient and it is this feeling that I would like to emulate at Higham Eye Care. I followed Hannah to Aston University to gain my degree in Optometry and took my preregistration year with a large company optician. Once fully qualified I continued to work for different companies until 2017 when I decided to start locuming. It was my first experience of working in an independent practice and I loved it. Being able to spend longer with my patients and getting to know them and help them as much as possible really resonated with me - so much so that I persuaded Hannah to consider having a practice of our own just as our parents had suggested years before.

Away from being an optometrist I am a Mum of three, one of whom is autistic. I hope this encourages families with special needs, either adults or children, to feel comfortable being tested by me. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, pilates and cooking.

I have wanted to be an optometrist ever since I started wearing contact lenses from the age of about 9 years old, and have now been qualified over 20 years after studying at Aston University. As a child I went to a local independent opticians which had that homely, friendly feel and even followed my optometrist when he opened up his own practice as I had built up a trust with him.

I enjoy meeting new and interesting people, striving to provide the best possible service and care for each and every patient that I see. So, having worked for large multiple opticians for many years, when I started locuming in 2014 in independent practice I enjoyed being able to spend more time with patients.

Outside of the testing room, I enjoy yoga, gardening and being an aunty. I also volunteer at a cat shelter and have a basic understanding of British Sign Language. I am Level 1 accredited and am currently studying Level 2.
